Day #19 of Favor 2017
Topic: Day #19 of Favor 2017
Memory Verse: Genesis 26:12 (ESV) - And Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold. The Lord blessed him
Main Texts: Genesis 12:1–3
Daily Quote: He is God for all but not to all - Michael Gyekye
Bible in One year: Genesis 41:17-42:17 Matthew 13:24-46 Psalm 18:1-15 Proverbs
4:1-6
Isaac was blessed beyond measure during one of the worst famines of his day. When people were sowing and reaping nothing because the land was dry, Isaac sowed and reaped hundred fold. This is what the divine favor of God can do. It brings life to where there is death, healing to where there is sickness, hope where there is no hope, assurance when all have given up. It is God who can cause increase over your life. Everywhere Isaac turned he prospered, so much so that Abimelech, king of the Philistines, said to Isaac: “Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we” (Genesis 26:16). - #19dayof30daysoffavor.
Under this session of 30 days of divine favor, we are
looking at examples of divine favor, making reference to one of my bible teachers,
Benny Hinn in his 2014 theme; year of divine favor. Divine favor does not
belong to all but only to the elect, and as children of the Most High God we
are legally in line for an outpouring of divine favor and promotion that is
coming our way. But you and I must first apply these biblical principles to
receive it. In these few days, I am going to touch on the examples and how we
can claim our divine favor.
Not all can experience this gift from God even though God
loves the whole world. For example, divine favor rested on the life of Abraham,
yet none of his family experienced it. His father, Terah, and all his family
that stayed in Haran did not know God’s favor (Genesis 11). Abraham was blessed
and favored because he was chosen (Genesis 12:1-3). And that favor was seen
repeatedly in Abraham’s life. There are so many examples in Scripture. When he
went down to Egypt, he had favor with the pharaoh (Genesis 12). When he fought
against the forces that captured his nephew Lot (Genesis 14), Abraham was given
divine favor and victory. Divine favor rested on his son Isaac, but Isaac’s
half-brother Ishmael did not know the same favor.
Note this:
God loves you and wants to set you free. Jesus died for you and salvation is the gateway for divine blessings and abundance. If you are not born again, you are not free. If you want to be born again today by giving your life to Christ, or you want to renew your faith, please pray this prayer
“Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. Deliver me from sin and Satan to serve the living God. I accept You as my Lord and Savior. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.”'
Prayers for Today
- Father, cleanse me from all sins that will drive me away from you today.
- Father, I receive the grace that will promote my selection to be favored in Jesus name.
- Father, I pray, if someone is to be favored this year, it must be me in Jesus name.
